Exclusively for graduates of the Music-Integrated Therapy Training Program who want to bring a new clinical-musical method to their work in ways that match their music, health and well-being blueprint, clinical approach, and clients' needs.

What's Included?

  • In-Depth Instructional Workbooks

    Four dynamic workbooks that share step-by-step instructions and guidance to bring your chosen clinical-musical method to your clinical work.

  • Group Instructional Sessions

    Four weekly 75-minute group meetings focused on developing and workshopping your interventions.

  • Musical Examples

    Examples of clinical-musical experiences to inspire your learning.

How Does It Work?

You'll receive access to the learning material for your chosen Clinical-Musical Method on February 7; one week before our first Group Session. You'll arrive at the first Group Session on February 14 ready to discuss material from your first workbook.

Classes are Tuesdays at 1:00pmET

We'll meet for 1 hour and 15 minutes each week

First Group Session: February 14, 2023

Last Instructional Session: March 7, 2023

During the instructional sessions, you'll be encouraged to workshop techniques from your new clinical-musical method. You'll also have an opportunity to engage in supported musical experiences, discuss learning material, share your work from the week, and ask your questions. I hope to see you there!

Dr. Deborah Seabrook, PhD MTA RCC

Hi, I'm Deborah (she/her)

When you work with me, you're receiving a unique blend of the highest standards of psychotherapy, clinical counselling, music therapy, and musicianship that I have been developing over the past 20 years. I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario (#001849), a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#17031), a Certified Music Therapist (#0334) with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists, and a recognized Climate Aware Therapist with the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America. My approach to training is informed by my ongoing experiences with the wonderful professionals and students I have had the fortune to work with. I have provided clinical supervision to over 150 university students, interns, and professionals and have taught music therapy extensively at universities across Canada - most recently at McGill University. I am currently a Music Therapy Research Fellow at Wilfrid Laurier University and Core Faculty in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University.

  • Who can register for this course?

    Graduates of the 12-week Music-Integrated Therapy Training program and Certified Music Therapists.

  • What musical skills do I need to take this training?

    This depends upon the Clinical-Musical Method you choose. No musical training is required for the Listening method. Some musical training can be beneficial for the Re-Creation method. People who are comfortable making music - be that through singing, playing an instrument, and/or through computer technology - will benefit most from the training in Improvisation and Composition/Songwriting.   • Is this training also offered in an individual format?

    Yes! All continuing education clinical-musical methods are also offered as individual training programs. You can view them through your "Courses" in your Course Dashboard.
